20 two-year Master degree courses, most of them offered in English, are spread across the four faculties: Architecture, Communication, Economics and Informatics. Their teaching model reflects the identity of the University of Lugano since they offer students innovative courses that are noted for their interdisciplinary character and their close link to the world of employment. An active link, which is also demonstrated by the data on the integration of USI graduates into the world of employment. A 2008 study shows that 95.3% of USI graduates are in employment, on average only 1.5 months after graduation. USI is also the Swiss university with the highest proportion of international students – almost 51% in total – who come to Tessin from around 40 different countries, mainly Italy, Germany, Romania and Spain.
